The highly professional team of scientists at the R&D Center, which has been headed since its creation in 2004 by the director of Cryobank Dr. Galyna Lobintseva, PhD and laureate of the State Premium, solves various tasks: from routine preservation of umbilical cord blood to the development of cell and tissue products and their preclinical and clinical trials. In addition, the R&D Center is actively involved in international clinical trials and research projects:
In addition, the R&D Center is actively involved in international clinical trials and research projects: You can review our research and publications by following the links in the PlacentaStemCell Lab Research and PlacentaStemCell Lab Publications
R&D Center has a cell culture laboratory equipped with biosafety cabinets Class II (MSC-Advantage, Thermo Scientific), light and inverted microscopes (Olympus, Primovert, Carl Zeiss), and fluorescent microscope (Axio Vert.A1, Carl Zeiss), CO 2 /O 2 incubators (CCL-240T-8-NF, ESCO), automated cell counters (Countes II, Thermo Fisher Scientific), and other modern equipment necessary for the cultivation of cells and tissues. Moreover, the center has real-time PCR equipment iCycler iQ5 (BioRad); Rotor-Gene 6000 (Qiagen)
The low temperature cryopreservation unit is equipped with modern programmed controlled-rate freezers able to carry out controlled seeding (IceCube 14-A/M, Sylab), equipment for long-term storage of biological material of cells in liquid nitrogen or its vapors in any cryopreservation containers (cryovials and cryobags)
We work closely with our partners, in particular, with the Laboratory of Cell and Tissue Cultures of the State Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine where we jointly conduct research on flow cytometry and experimental studies on animals. In addition, our main partner to conduct molecular-biological research is the Laboratory of Biosynthesis of Nucleic Acids of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
